Location
Administrative Region
Yesan-gun is located in the northwestern region of Chungcheongnam-do Province. Cheonan (38.8km) and Asan (22.2km) lie on the east and northeast of Yesan-eup, while Gongju (53.3km) and Daejeon (88.5km) are situated on the northeast, Hongseong-gun (20.8) on the west, and Boryeong (53.2km) on the northwest.
Transportation
Yesan-eup serves as the transportation hub of the northwestern region of Chungcheongnam-do Province, with roads extending in four major directions toward Asan, Dangjin, Hongseong and Gongju.
Climate
Yesan-gun exhibits the typical climatic characteristic of peninsulas. There are prominent northeasterly winds in summer and northwesterly winds in winter, which are characteristics of temperate monsoon climate. It is extremely hot in summer, while cold continental climate is observed in winter. More than half of the annual precipitation occurs in the summer season.
